About: CAT is a computer-based test for admission for MBA or management program in all prestigious IIM (Indian Institute of Management) or Top business institutes/schools in India.
CAT score is also considered for those who want to pursue management courses at IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) and IISc (Indian Institute of Science) from Aug 2011 onwards.
Until 2009, the CAT was a paper based test conducted on a single day for all candidates. From 2009 onwards CAT is being conducted on computer-based test.
This test now conducted by TCS on behalf of CAT authority.
Eligibility: any bachelor’s degree with 50% or equal marks recognized by UGC. (for SC/ST/PWD its 45%) and final year students can also write CAT test.
Test pattern and Duration
- CAT exact exam pattern: Changes every year.
- Duration: 3 Hours
CAT is a computer-based test which consists of 3 sections
- Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
- Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DI & LR)
- Quantitative Ability (QA).
